The Colorado Avalanche acquired defenseman Ryan Merkley and ahead Matt Nieto from the San Jose Sharks for ahead Martin Kaut and defenseman and Jacob MacDonald on Wednesday.
Merkley, 22, requested a commerce earlier this month, as reported by Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli. The 2018 first spherical decide has six factors in 39 video games as a rookie with the Sharks.
