UNLV defensive lineman Ryan Keeler died on Monday, the college stated in an announcement. He was 20.
As a redshirt freshman final season, Keeler performed in seven video games. The Chicago native made his first begin in October in a recreation towards Air Force the place he recorded seven tackles and a sack.
“We are devastated to have misplaced a member of our Rebel household,” UNLV soccer head coach Barry Odom, who was employed in December, stated in an announcement. “While I had the consideration of realizing Ryan for less than a few months, he already stood out to our teaching employees as an unimaginable individual, pupil and teammate. Keeler transferred to UNLV from Rutgers within the 2022 offseason. He performed highschool soccer at Nazareth Academy (Illinois). Both packages paid tribute to their former participant on social media.
“We love you, Ryan,” Rutgers soccer stated on Twitter.
“There are not any phrases. Our hearts are heavy. God bless the Keeler household. We love you Ryan,” the highschool’s soccer crew posted.
Keeler was majoring in pre-business and was an Academic All-Mountain West honoree with a 3.80 GPA.
